Best Actress 1993

The next year I'll be doing a profile/ranking on is 1993 and the nominees were:

Angela Bassett in What's Love Got To Do With it?

Stockard Channing in Six Degrees Of Separation

Holly Hunter In The Piano

Emma Thompson in The Remains Of The Day

Debra Winger in Shadowlands

So, who do you think will win? Who are you rooting for?

Everyone here would get excellent grades from me since each actress would have been worthy of the Oscar if I were a voter.

So it must be a really strong year in your opinion! Isn't Emma your pick?I've only seen Hunter so far, so I have no idea what I'll think of the other nominees, although I expect to like Bassett since a lot of people love her.

I'll keep my opions to myself :)

But, I COMPLETELY disagree that all of them would have been worthy of an Oscar.

Very exciting year! Can anyone touch Holly? Joe will tell us!

Ha ha, that's what I thought, because I remember your ranking from last time and it seemed you thought Hunter completely killed the competition. We'll see.

We'll see, Fritz! Which nominees have you seen from this year?

I have seen Thompson, Bassett and part of Hunter's performance. I think you'll go with Hunter.

A good year.

I still need to see Hunter (I hear she's just astonishing!) but Channing in Six Degrees is just incredible. Watch her first. She just does something so special that she engages us both intellectually and emotionally.

Louis: Who would be your pick from those two?

Twister: I was planning on doing Channing second, but I'll go ahead and do her first!

Thompson from those two, but What I saw from Hunter was far above them.

What did you see from Hunter?

I'm rooting for Hunter! I remembered she was the first Oscar-winner performance I saw after becoming a real cinephile and it haunts me until today!

I probably saw the first 45 minutes or so.

Louis: You should totally finish it!
